Description
Join us on Sunday 23rd March 2025 for the Hola Mohalla Paintballing Competition. Taking place from 1:30pm to 5:00pm at Kegworth Delta Force. Open to those aged 11 and over. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is £28 per person and this includes 300 paintballs. More paintballs can be purchased on the day. There are limited spaces available on a first come, first serve basis.
What is included:
All players are provided with the latest paintballing gear to ensure you look the part whilst being covered from top to toe. We provide body armour, combat suits with high padded necks, and a helmet/goggle-system that fully encloses the head (like a motorcycle helmet, but lightweight and fully vented). Gloves are not provided but you can either bring your own or buy some on the day.
300 paintballs are included. However, there is no way of knowing how many paintballs any individual will use, as it depends on how trigger-happy you are. It is entirely up to each person how many paintballs they want to use. Last year, many managed with the 300 paintballs included, others purchased more. You can purchase paintballs at the centre throughout the session during the breaks between games at a cost of around £9.99 per 100 paintballs.
For dastar wearers:
Small dastar/keski or patka wearers will be able to wear the motorstyle style helmets normally provided. There will be also be a limited amount of visors available for those unable to wear the full helmet. Please let us know beforehand if you think this will be the case.
What to wear:
Players should wear old, comfortable clothing and may also want to bring a change of clothes for the conclusion of the game. We strongly recommend boots with ankle support and deep tread/rubber soles – it can be muddy, wet and slippery in the woodlands.
What is Hola Mohalla?
Hola Mohalla is a Sikh festival started by Guru Gobind Singh Ji that takes place in the first of the lunar month of Chet which usually falls in March.
Hola is the masculine form of the feminine sounding Holi. But unlike Holi, when people playfully sprinkle colored powder on each other, Guru Gobind SIngh Ji made Hola Mohalla (which translates to “mock fight”) an occasion for the Sikhs to demonstrate their martial skills in simulated battles. The custom originated in the time of Guru Gobind Singh who held the first such mock fight event at Anandpur in February 1701.
